Accelerate: Drama Classes for Ages 16 – 18
Semester 2, 2024
Led by professional teaching artist, Mollie Webb, over the course of 8-weeks you will explore contemporary performance techniques based on current industry practices and learn creative strategies to help pave the way for establishing practice as an emerging artist, whilst working towards a performance outcome.
Ideal for participants of Q Theatre’s annual The Riff: Youth Theatre Festival, Accelerate is also the perfect complement for students undertaking HSC drama studies and young people wishing to pursue tertiary performance studies, or continue their performing as part of amateur, pro-am or professional ensembles. Students from Accelerate have gone on to participate in Q Theatre’s emerging and professional artists programs including Originate and Q Theatre Lab.
Semester 2 is run across two 8-week periods (Terms 3 and 4). The semester concludes with our annual End of Year Showcase on Saturday 30 November, in which students from each Studio Q class present an original 7 – 10 minute piece in front of a live audience on Q Theatre’s stage.
